Steve Lukather and Bobby Kimball, somewere in the US 1979 |
The Toto Tour (A.K.A the small undocumented 1979 US tour)
After the recording sessions were done, their self title album was release and by surprice it became a hit selling over 4,500,000 million copies.Their hit "Hold The Line" brought some attention to the band that still follows them through this day.
But we're not here to talk about that story that has been tell a thousand times, we're here to talk about the tour that follow up this release, which........... barely has any info :/ first of all, the beginning date and the final show are not defined, some people says that it started in January 1979 and others said it started almost at the end of 1978, the ending of the tour is not that conflicting, since most sources claim that it ended in April 1979... right? well the February 2nd show in the Agora, Cleveland has a interesting quote by Bobby right before I'll Supply The Love
"This is the last nigh in the tour, and you make the darn thing worth it" -Bobby Kimball 1979So, should we believe that or not? honestly, I don't care, we will never get a definitive answer and breaking our heads thinking won't do any good.
Anyway let's get to the bootlegs, which sadly they barely exist, the US has never been very active at recording show and in 1979 the way of doing were difficult and expensive so we have the great number of............ TWO shows, and a radio interview :)
