We can't staaaaaaand Fergie any longer!
At this point on time the band was doubting if Fergie was capable of being the lead singer or not and well at the end of the day....... it didn't work, the Isolation sessions already gave everyone a bad taste in their mounth as I mention in the 1985 page, the Isolation tour wasan't perfect either as Luke said:
"He was good for like two nights in a row and then he'd get sick, he's get sores all over his face, he was so nervous and he'd get all freaked out and shit." -Steve LukatherSo yeah, even in the live performances he could't handle it.
After the tour ended and shorly after the making of Fahrentheit started Fergie was out of the band, the only remains of him on the album were the chorus of "Could This Be Love".
Aparently Joseph at the time was very broke, he barely had any money and he was living on a cheap motel, the band first claim that they knew him because he was singing in the same studio as them back in the early 80's and they keep an eye on him, but in recent year they say they know him since highschool, you can be the judge on that debate, so he did an audition and he wait for around 10 days just to finally be acepted as their new lead singer.
Later in the year they did a tour in Japan and a few TV apperances, the rest of the tour follow up in Europe, but thats another story for another day..........
